Did you know that in the 1930s there were mobsters that hid out in northern Wisconsin? My friend and I and my family drove to Manitowish Waters. We read about Jon Dillenger, Al Capone and Babyface Nelson who hid upnorth from the FBI. Stories around the state suggest that they threw stolen items into the waters and buried some. Their last shootout took place in Manitowish Waters and its remains are in the care of Little Bohemia Lodge. It was really cool!
